After a year, I returned to ETS 2 with the Western Balkans DLC. I play the game with an Xbox One controller. It has always worked perfectly for me. But I found that the functions that were assigned to holding the buttons do not work for me. For example, holding X meant turning on the cruise control at the saved speed, I think holding Y was the handbrake etc. Why doesn't it work anymore?
VR support for ETS2 is nothing more than a side project that lets you control the camera using a VMD. It is maintained by a single employee after finishing their other required tasks, or during breaks. There is currently no public plans for adding additional support for VR users beyond that.

They broke something with Steam Controller Configuration. Looks like they messed up with the Action Layers. My X1 controller randomly don't work at all because it seems that the game picks an empty Action Layer (arcade gear, automatic gear, manual gear) for no reason and therefore, replace all my bindings with empty ones (because I don't use any gear layer so they're all empty).
