PERSPEX® Fluorescent is available in a range of six colours, either as a double sided gloss or a double sided anti-reflective finish; each designed to make your ideas stand out from the crowd: Helios Yellow – a fresh sunny yellow. Lava Orange – a warm glowing orange. Mars Red – a bright, intense red. Acid Green – a strong sharp green.
Perspex is half the weight of glass, making it an easier material to handle for diy projects and for when fitting your glazing. Perspex costs less, which can be a major advantage for large jobs. Acrylic glass also provides better maximum uv protection against uv light to up to 98%.
If you have previously bought perspex, you will notice very little difference if you opt for Acrylic sheets from Sheet Plastics in the future. Our range of Acrylic Sheets can also be processed in the same ways as perspex. These methods include laser cutting, CNC Cutting, Bending, Polishing, Forming, Cutting and Moulding.
Green laser protective, CE Certified, acrylic was tested. It blocked 100% on my IR meter (950 nm) with 30% VIS transparency (550nm). I then tested 16 colored standard acrylic sheets sold on Amazon (Red, blue, green, light green, yellow, etc.). The typical IR blocking was 4-5% with 95% of the IR energy of straight line radiation passing through.
UV-blocking contact lenses help provide protection against harmful UV radiation. However, clinical studies have not been done to demonstrate that wearing UV-blocking contact lenses reduces the risk of developing cataracts or other eye disorders. Consult your eye care practitioner for more information. *Free trial contact lenses available only
Anti Static Acrylic or ESD acrylic sheet offers surface resistance from 10^6 to 10^8 Ohms, standard size is 4x8ft, 1220x2440mm, thickness is from 1mm to 30mm. UV curing glue: This type of glue requires a UV light to cure and form a strong bond between Perspex pieces. It’s a popular choice for small projects that require precision and a strong bond. However, it can be more expensive than other types of glue, and you’ll need to purchase a UV light to use it properly. It's commonly referred to as 'UV resin', though I understand UV technically finishes at 400nm. I am looking for a sheet-type filter for 405nm light and have had trouble locating something at all, let alone in the UK. Perspex-brand VE and VA sheets are huge, extremely expensive and not readily available in the UK anyway. Why choose our (Perspex®) clear acrylic block? The clear acrylic blocks available here at The Plastic People offer near perfect optical clarity and make for great alternatives to glass. Available in 15mm, 20mm and 25mm thickness, our acrylic blocks can also be cut to the exact size you need – making them ideal for a range of home and garden xjc9YvJ.
