Drivers have reported TIPM problems in Wranglers and Grand Cherokees from 2007 onward, as well as other recent Chrysler vehicles. The dash flashed a couple of weird unrelated messages, so I figured it was some sort of glitch with the electric PS. Sure enough I restarted after a short wait and everything was normal. That's the typical type if issue, some weird electrical problem that has a simple, but obscure solution. Or, something that can only be fixed by dealer reprogramming. The 3.6L Pentastar engine is tried and true and a repeated winner of Wards 10 Best Engines. The 850RE transmission is smooth and solid. The 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee has 1709 problems & defects reported by Grand Cherokee owners. I had the dealer look into my low power steering fluid on my 2015 Summit and they found a leak at the power steering rack and tightened the return power steering line then topped up the fluid. I never noticed any leaks on my garage floor. That was at 7800 miles.
4798 posts · Joined 2018. #13 · May 10, 2018. The central TPMS unit should produce diagnostic codes it stores for the malfunctions. So a huge part of fixing this is too read the diagnostics codes. The dealership should be able to do this, and have a troubleshooting guide to follow with the diagnostics.
